
The Federal Road Safety Corps Lagos Sector Command has intensified operational activities across the State to ensure a safe, smooth, and hitch-free Easter celebration for all road users.
In line with the Corps’ mandate of safeguarding lives and property, the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde G. Hamzat, has approved the strategic deployment of personnel, patrol vehicles, towing vehicles, ambulances and rescue teams to critical locations, highways, and high-traffic corridors across Lagos State.
The Command has put in place the following measures:
• Increased patrol and visibility on major roads and black spots
• Strict enforcement against over-speeding, dangerous driving, overloading, and use of mobile phones while driving
• Deployment of ambulances and tow trucks for prompt rescue and clearance of obstructions
• Traffic control at worship centres, recreational facilities, and major junctions
• Enhanced public enlightenment campaigns on safe driving practices
The Sector Commander urges all motorists to exercise patience, avoid reckless driving, and ensure their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on any journey.
Corps Commander Hamzat also emphasized the importance of adequate rest, especially for long-distance drivers, to prevent fatigue-related crashes.
Passengers are equally advised to remain vigilant and speak up against unsafe driving, as road safety is a shared responsibility.
The Command will continue to collaborate with sister agencies to ensure effective traffic management and emergency response throughout the festive period.
