The Lagos State Police Command has officially kicked off activities for the 2026 National Police Day with a large-scale sanitation exercise across the state and a free medical outreach in Ikeja.

Under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, the initiative began on Monday, March 30, 2026, mobilising officers across fourteen Area Commands to participate in coordinated environmental sanitation efforts aimed at promoting cleaner and healthier communities.

As part of the opening day activities, the Command also organised a comprehensive free medical outreach at Computer Village, Ikeja, offering a wide range of healthcare services to residents and passers-by. Beneficiaries received free medical check-ups, health education, counselling, blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, as well as tests for Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, and retroviral infections. Eye examinations and free medications were also provided.

The initiative highlights the Nigeria Police Force’s growing focus on community engagement, public health promotion, and environmental sustainability, while reinforcing trust and collaboration between the police and the public.

Residents who benefited from the outreach commended the Command for bringing essential healthcare services closer to the people, describing the effort as timely and impactful.

The Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to people-centred policing, partnership, and dedicated service, as activities lined up for the 2026 National Police Day continue across the state.
