45 Year Old Man Beats His Wife To Death Over Property Ownership In Ogun

A 45-year-old man identified as Segun Omotosho has reportedly beaten his wife, Olubukola Omotosho, to death in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The couple were said to have engaged each other over ownership of a private school set up by his wife.
In a statement by the police state’s spokesperson, Abimbola Oyeyemi noted that the man was arrested on Sunday by men of Ogun State Police Command, following a complaint lodged at the Kemta divisional headquarters, on November 14, by the deceased’s elder sister.
According to the statement, the sister of the deceased had reported that the 42-year-old Olubukola was beaten and seriously injured by her husband, who later rushed her to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba Abeokuta for medical attention.
However, she was said to have given up the ghost while receiving treatment.
“Unknown to the husband, the deceased had sent a voice note to her family members, informing them that her husband has used a padlock to hit her on the head while beating her, and that if she died, they should be aware that it was her husband that killed her,” the statement read
Oyeyemi said the husband fled immediately after the voice note was played to his hearing, “having realized that his evil deed had been exposed.”
“Upon the report and the recording evidence, the DPO of Kemta division, CSP Adeniyi Adekunle, had detailed his detectives to go after the husband and fish him out.
Oyeyemi revealed that the suspect was subsequently traced to Akinseku village, Abeokuta where he hibernated, and was promptly apprehended.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that their incessant quarrel was because the deceased built a private school in the name of herself and the husband, but the husband who is a carpenter had wanted to take over the control of the school but the deceased who was an NCE graduate refused,” Oyeyemi said.
