Hotel Owner Arrested for Alleged Sodomy of Underage Boy in Lagos
In a shocking turn of events, Opara Macdonald, CEO of Leuven Empire Hotel and Suites in Lagos, has been arrested by the Zone 2 Police Command for allegedly sodomizing a 16-year-old boy. The arrest was made following a petition submitted to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, who ordered immediate investigations.
According to the police, the victim was taken from the hotel to the suspect’s residence, where he was forcefully subjected to unlawful sexual acts. The suspect allegedly provided the victim with a bottle of Lucozade Boost and ₦5,000 to keep quiet about the incident. The police investigation revealed that the suspect had threatened the victim with psychological harm if he revealed the incident.
The victim’s father reported the incident to the police, alleging that Macdonald had sodomized his son. The father’s son implicated two individuals, Balogun and Mega, in the troubling incident. Balogun confirmed the son’s account during a video-recorded police interview, validating the allegations.

However, the case took a complicated turn when the father discovered that key documents, including statements from Balogun and Mega, had been removed from the case file during transfer to the police unit in Sherry Osun. Despite this, the suspect was granted bail, sparking outrage from the father, who felt that justice was not being served.
The victim’s mental health has deteriorated significantly since the incident, with symptoms including repetitive speech patterns and memory problems. The father has expressed frustration and heartbreak, seeking both justice and a solution to his son’s deteriorating mental health.
The police have arrested the investigating police officer (IPO) in Sherry for alleged tampering with evidence. The IPO has been detained and is undergoing disciplinary procedures. The case is ongoing, with the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) ordering the suspect’s arrest.
The Zone 2 Police Command has advised parents to always keep an eye on their children and monitor their activities. The suspect will be formally charged in court upon completion of investigations.
