I JOINED POLITICS TO FIGHT FOR GOOD GOVERNANCE AND TO BRING OUT THE BEST IN THE SOCIETY – HON DR. BALOGUN ROTIMI

Hon. Dr. Balogun Rotimi Olasunkanmi a.k.a (BRO). Ikorodu-born politician who attended Command Children’s School and Command Secondary School throughout his primary and secondary school years. He graduated from Lagos State Polytechnic, Ikorodu. He was a member of the Chartered Institute of Loan and West Management. Like-wise, he got his PhD in Politics and Good Governance at Brisith America University, Florida.
Under the umbrella of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Dr. Balogun Rotimi Olasunkanmi once aspired to be a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly. He is also a state consultant on prosperity development. He entered politics with the intention of fighting for good governance and putting an end to bad leadership that is looting the treasury to satisfy their own desires.
In an interview with The Tochlight Africa News, Hon. Dr. Balogun Rotimi said the only way to fight for my people, especially the youth, is to join the political rase, correct things that have gone bad, and bring out the best in society.
Our country needs a great mind and someone with a vision who will change the status quo of 1960 and the disabled promises like electricity, roads, water, and other things. We couldn’t provide a facility with amenities for our children. Our children are growing up. What are we teaching them? Though I have been doing my best, joining a political rase will help us bring light to the darkness.
“I have empowered some youth with vocational training and they have all got their certificates for different types of jobs.”
“In my field, I have trained no less than twenty youths on how to manage property with a penny, and most of them now own a company of their own.”
Hon. Dr. Balogun expressed his feelings towards the youths in our society. He said our youth are the leaders of tomorrow, but our politicians are not working towards that. They are not keeping their promises to the youth; they use their office to promote the most irrelevant things in society. For example, what educational value does “Big Brother Nigeria” provide to our youth? When you find out that a sound graduate with a good grade does not have a job, it strikes my heart and I feel pain. Our leaders don’t keep their promises to the youth. It is very wrong.
How many education programmes do they promote in a year? There are very few empowerment programmes. Instead, our present government is after tax. What are they using it for? No job creation.
Our country has many government-rejected areas; let them use them and employ our youth with attractive salaries. Stop lending to farmers; it does not benefit our society. You will see that the story changes.
My stay in Ikorodu is to know what people are going through because I feel the pains of people in society and I want to create a good relationship with them. I can as well stay in Ajah or Lekki like other businessmen or politicians, but this doesn’t help our society. He said. If you do the right thing for your community, you will be protected security-wise by the youths in it.
