Following credible intelligence gathered by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Command Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, operatives of the Zonal Oracle Section have successfully apprehended a two-man robbery syndicate specializing in “one chance” operations along the Bonny Camp/Ajah route in Lagos.
The suspects, identified as Igwe Obi and Solomon Adebayo, were arrested at the Ijora Badia Bridge. During interrogation, they admitted to carrying out multiple robberies targeting unsuspecting passengers. The duo typically posed as a driver and conductor, using commercial buses to lure their victims before robbing them of phones, money, and other valuables.
The suspects further revealed they have been engaged in this illicit activity for over two years, operating primarily along the Bonny Cantonment/Ajah axis. Stolen mobile phones and other valuables were reportedly sold to receivers in the Ajegunle area of Lagos.
Efforts are currently underway to apprehend other members of the syndicate. The suspects will face charges in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
The public is advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station. The Zone 2 Command assures residents of enhanced security measures during the festive season.
