The Lagos State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has intensified its onslaught against armed robbers, car thieves, kidnappers and other criminal syndicates across the state. The heightened operations, he said, have continued to give criminal elements sleepless nights and deny them any operational space in Lagos.
Speaking during a press briefing on the Command’s strategic security breakthroughs for November 2025, held at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja, CP Jimoh revealed sweeping successes recorded in crime prevention, arrests, and recovery of stolen property.
According to him, the Command sustained a robust combination of surveillance, intelligence-driven raids, and rapid tactical responses which resulted in the recovery of 10 stolen luxury vehicles, one motorcycle, six firearms, and $4,000 in counterfeit U.S. dollars, as well as the arrest of 52 suspects linked to robbery, kidnapping, vehicle snatching, smuggling and other violent crimes.
“These achievements are a testament to our commitment to dismantling criminal gangs, intercepting stolen property, removing illegal firearms from circulation, and strengthening public safety across Lagos State,” CP Jimoh stated.
Recovered Vehicles and Items
The CP announced the recovery of 10 stolen vehicles and one motorcycle during various operations in November, including:
White Toyota Hilux (KTU 940 JR) used to obtain goods under false pretence
White Range Rover SUV, recovered after its last known driver could not be identified
Black Toyota Land Cruiser, suspected to have been smuggled into the country without valid customs papers
Silver Lexus GX460 SUV, fraudulently disposed of by a trusted handler
Silver Honda CR-V, linked to an interstate syndicate operating in Edo, Ogun, and Lagos
Grey Toyota Corolla (SMK 437 HV), abandoned in a secluded location and recently reported stolen
Wine Toyota Corolla (LSD 887 JJ), connected to a notorious interstate vehicle-snatching gang
Ash Lexus ES350, obtained through fraudulent means
2011 Ash Toyota Highlander, recovered during targeted crackdowns
Boxer Bajaj motorcycle (KTU 310 QN) traced to suspicious criminal movements
Ongoing Investigations
CP Jimoh disclosed that several suspects arrested in November are assisting investigators, with efforts underway to track additional accomplices tied to armed robbery and kidnapping rings. Police are also working to dismantle interstate and cross-border vehicle-snatching networks.
Investigators are verifying ownership of all recovered vehicles and the motorcycle to ensure they are returned to rightful owners.
The Command is also probing the origin of the fake U.S. dollars recovered and the use of military camouflage and charms by suspects to facilitate criminal activities.

In addition, CP Jimoh said oversight over car-hire services and informal transport operators is being strengthened, as these platforms have increasingly been exploited by criminals to commit fraud and mobility-related offences.
