NAPE President Applauds BOCA Energy’s Support for Industry Growth, Emphasises Importance of Deep-Water Survey Discussions
The President of the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE), Olajumoke Cecilia Ajayi, has commended BOCA Energy Resources Limited for sponsoring the association’s March 2026 Technical/Business Meeting, describing the move as a strong contribution to the development of Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
Speaking during her welcome address at the event held in Lagos, Ajayi expressed appreciation to the company for supporting a platform that promotes technical knowledge sharing and professional collaboration among stakeholders in the sector.
She noted that BOCA Energy’s sponsorship demonstrates its commitment to strengthening industry capacity, innovation, and professional engagement within the petroleum exploration community.
Ajayi also praised the meeting’s theme, “From Swamp to Deep Water: Designing Fit-for-Purpose Site Surveys Across Nigeria’s Offshore Blocks,” describing it as both timely and essential to addressing the evolving demands of petroleum exploration.
According to her, site surveys play a critical role in de-risking exploration assets and enabling operators to make informed decisions before committing to expensive drilling operations.
She further explained that with the increasing scale of offshore activities and the rising participation of operators in marginal field developments, access to reliable survey data has become indispensable. Proper planning supported by accurate geophysical information, she said, is key to reducing uncertainties and maximising investments in the sector.
The NAPE president encouraged participants to make the most of the session by actively engaging in discussions, asking relevant questions, and acquiring knowledge that would enhance their professional capacity for deeper offshore exploration.
The meeting attracted key stakeholders across the industry and is expected to deepen conversations around innovative survey methodologies while strengthening collaboration among operators, service providers, and regulators in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector.
