The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Lagos Sector Command, has confirmed a serious multiple-vehicle road traffic crash that occurred today, at Kara Bridge (outward Lagos) along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway.

The crash, which occurred at about 1455hrs, involved five vehicles and a total of eleven persons. Six persons sustained injuries, while no fatality was recorded.

The incident was attributed to loss of control arising from overspeeding.

FRSC operatives responded promptly to the distress call within four minutes and the injured victims were rescued and conveyed to the Lagos State Accident & Emergency Centre (LASAEC) for prompt medical attention. FRSC personnel worked assiduously in collaboration with the Nigeria Police, and other sister agencies. Kara Bridge (outward Lagos) along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway has been fully cleared, and the road has been reopened for easy and free movement of vehicles.

Traffic flow has been restored, while FRSC operatives and sister agencies remain on ground to monitor the situation and ensure sustained safety and orderliness.

Motorists are once again advised to maintain lane discipline, observe speed limits, and drive with caution.

The FRSC Lagos Sector Commander, Corps Commander Kehinde Ganiyu Hamzat has appealed to all road users to exercise patience, caution, and strict compliance with speed limits, especially around critical points such as bridges and corridors with high traffic volume. Motorists are advised to drive responsibly, remain alert, and avoid risky behaviours that could endanger lives.

Further updates will be communicated as necessary.
