Today’s world press conference commemorating the Ninth Edition of Lagos State First Generation Colleges Association (LAFGHECA) Intercollegiate Sports Competition 2022 (9th Editipn). I am also very elated with the presence of students from the Thirty (30) participating Secondary School.
Com.Adedeji Owoeye stated that, there is also no gainsaying that sport plays very vital roles in uniting us as a people. This is also the essence why institutions and schools are encouraged to have sporting events in their academic calendar yearly. It is very important to emphasize that the Ninth LAFGHECA intercollegiate sports competition is aimed not only discovering grate sporting talents but also in healing emotional wounds amongst peers and engender unity. The sporting event was instituted to bring back the relationship among first generation schools and encourage students to be active in sports.
He said we are very pleased to be the franchise holding company for LAFGHECA INTERCOLLEGIATE SPORTS COMPETITION and our best will be given to further project and Market the brand into the consciousness of the private sector group, relevant government institutions and philanthropic individuals. We are hopeful that the private sector group particularly the Fast Moving Commodity Group (F.M.C.G) will seize this opportunity and use the platform to deepening their brand consciousness and perception.
KCom. Adedeji Owoeye acknowledge the contributions of the Visionary and founder of Lagos State First Generation Heritage Colleges Association, Otunba Olusegun Oladele Olapeju. He is on the good side of history and posterity has accorded him his rightful place. I would also like to acknowledge the immense contributions of the following persons Alhaja Yusuf Risikat Olaitan, Pastor Olaboyegun Olusegun, Mr. Adebambo Tajudeen, Pastor Victor Biu ibi (Current Chairman) and other executives to the growth of LAFGHECA a formidable association adding unprecedented values to the development of education in Lagos State. Their labours of love have added unprecedented values to the association.
Com. Adedeji Stated that, this world Press Conference is very necessary for two basic reasons.
First, to officially announce that the NINTH LAFGHECA INTERCOLLEGIATE SPORTS COMPETITION holds on Saturday 9th April 2022 at Yaba College of Technology Sports Complex.
Secondly, we are also using this medium in appealing to the Private Sector Group to sponsor this sporting event as there are numerous channels of opportunities that will sporadically amplify their brands and unimaginable increase their sales. Relevant government institutions and philanthropic individuals are also invited to support us in having a successful sporting aimed at discovering new talents in sports.
On a final note, Com Adedeji said we are very hopeful that this edition will be great success with the supports of philanthropic individuals. Government institutions, sports association agencies. This sporting event would also awaken the spirit of co-operation and relationship among the first
generation schools in Lagos State, at it will feature Athletics, Long Jump, Table Tennis, Chess and Scrabble, amongst others.

The Chairman of the association Mr. Biyibi Victor who addressed the press men said the desire of the association (LAFGHECA) Lagos State Generation Heritage College Association is to promote heritage values, using this veritable platform of a friendly intercollegiate games, chiefly to promote the broad global principles of gender equity, sportsmanship, social academic standards, non-denomination, rules compliance, amateurism, competitive equity and joy in participating.
The fundamental objectives of schools sports logically follows the educational mission such as citizenship, sportsmanship, fair play, team work, respect, discipline, good health and welfare of all students as they grow into adult, “a sound mind is a sound body” he said.
He stated that,
the broad vision is to use sports to promote good health and healthy rivalry in all ramifications. I am sure by partnering with Golden Flower Global Services, they can be achieved.
The long term benefits will be broader global gains of the Nigerian nation. – As they say “Cash them young”.
