The Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2 Command, AIG Adegoke M. Fayoade, mni, psc, fisn, has reiterated the Command’s unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and security of residents in Lagos and Ogun States during the upcoming Eid-al-Adha celebrations.

 

In a directive issued to the Commissioners of Police in Lagos and Ogun States, as well as heads of various tactical and operational units — including the Police Mobile Force (PMF), Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), Special Protection Unit (SPU), Counter-Terrorist Unit (CTU), Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU), Anti-Cultism Unit (ACU), Force Intelligence Bureau (FIB), State Intelligence Bureau (SIB), Patrol and Guards Unit (P&G), Monitoring Units, X-Squad, Divisional Police Officers, Traffic Officers and other tactical formations — AIG Fayoade ordered the reinforcement of security measures across key public and private spaces.

 

These areas include worship centers, shopping malls, tourist sites, markets, commercial hubs, social venues, residential areas, highways, motor parks, garages, train stations, bus terminals, critical national assets, and both government and privately owned properties. The AIG also emphasized the need to maintain smooth traffic flow throughout the festivities.

 

While extending warm Eid greetings to all Muslim faithful, AIG Fayoade encouraged the public to celebrate peacefully and assured that adequate measures are in place to prevent any form of harassment, intimidation, or violence. He further called on members of the public to support the Police by remaining vigilant and cooperating with security personnel.
