AIG Margaret Ochalla Agebe has formally taken office as the 54th Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Lagos. Her appointment marks a new chapter in the department’s leadership, following the retirement of esteemed AIG Augustina N. Ogbodo (rtd) [2).
A native of Yala Local Government Area in Cross River State, AIG Agebe boasts an impressive educational background, holding degrees in Sociology, Conflict Resolution and Refugee Management, and Peace and Conflict Studies. Her extensive professional experience, combined with her educational achievements, underscores her readiness to lead FCID Annex Lagos in addressing contemporary challenges in criminal intelligence and investigation.
Throughout her distinguished career, AIG Agebe has held pivotal positions within the Nigeria Police Force, contributing to her exemplary leadership profile. She has served as Personal Assistant to four Commissioners of Police in Anambra, Officer In-Charge of the Monitoring Unit in Anambra, and Commissioner of Police at the Anti-Fraud Unit in the Force CID, Abuja, among others [1).
AIG Agebe’s exceptional work has earned her numerous prestigious awards, including the Global Women Hall of Fame (2017), Africa Women Leadership Award, and National Security Award for Excellent Performance and Exemplary Leadership. Her leadership and service have been recognized for advancing the efficiency of the Nigeria Police Force, particularly in combating gender-based violence, fraud, and other criminal activities.
In her new role, AIG Agebe calls on citizens to support the Police in the fight against crime, promote justice, and strengthen national security.
