The Ondo State Governorship Election results are in, with 15 out of 18 local government areas reporting. The APC candidate is leading in the released areas, which include *Ifedore*, *Ondo East*, *Ileoluji/Okeigbo*, *Idanre*, *Irele*, *Akoko South-West*, *Owo*, *Ondo West*, *Akoko South-East*, *Akoko North-West*, *Ose*, *Akure South*, *Akoko North-East*, *Akure North*, and *Okitipupa*.

The current tally shows APC with 301,113 votes and PDP with 97,051 votes from 13 council areas.¹ Results from *Odigbo*, *Ilaje*, and *Ese-Odo* are still pending. Prof. Olayemi Akinwunmi, State Returning Officer from Federal University, Lokoja, Kogi State, oversees the collation process.

Other key officials present at the collation center include INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Babalola, National Commissioners, party agents, ICCESS members, observers, and security agencies. This election follows the established electoral system, where the governor is elected using the plurality voting system [3).

The 2024 Ondo State gubernatorial election saw incumbent APC governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa running for a full term, with former deputy governor Agboola Ajayi of the PDP as a key challenger.
