The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, CP Adebowale Lawal, psc(+), mnips, has received thirty-six newly passed-out Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASP II) of Regular Course 7 from the Nigeria Police Academy, Wudil, following their posting to the state command.
The officers were formally welcomed at the Ondo State Police Command Headquarters, Alagbaka, Akure, where CP Lawal congratulated them on the successful completion of five years of rigorous academic and professional training at the academy.
Addressing the new officers, the Commissioner charged them to uphold the core values of the Nigeria Police Force, stressing the importance of professionalism, discipline, integrity and strict adherence to the rule of law. He also emphasized respect for human rights, fairness, accountability and courage as essential qualities of effective policing leadership.
CP Lawal noted that their deployment is in line with the vision and ongoing reforms of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D, NPM, aimed at strengthening manpower capacity, enhancing professionalism and repositioning the Force for intelligence-led and community-oriented policing nationwide.
He further urged the officers to demonstrate dedication to duty, teamwork, proactive intelligence gathering, crime prevention strategies and robust community engagement, describing Ondo State as a strategic platform for meaningful contribution to public safety, crime control and sustainable peace.
The Commissioner assured the officers of the Command’s commitment to continuous mentorship, capacity building and welfare support, encouraging them to serve as worthy ambassadors of the Nigeria Police Force whose conduct would inspire public trust and confidence.
CP Lawal reaffirmed the Ondo State Police Command’s support for the policy direction of the Inspector-General of Police and its resolve to strengthen its workforce, improve operational efficiency and deliver professional, people-centered policing in pursuit of a safer and more secure society.
