
The newly promoted Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Margaret Agebe Ochalla, has officially assumed duty at the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Abuja, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen investigative operations within the Nigeria Police Force.

According to the statement, the FCID and its four annexes warmly welcomed Ochalla as the new Deputy Inspector-General overseeing the department. She was received at the FCID Complex in Area 10, Garki, Abuja, by senior officers of the department led by AIG Olaolu Adegbite, MFR, the officer in charge of the INTERPOL Section.
DIG Ochalla holds a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a Master’s degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution. Her deployment to the FCID is seen as a significant boost to the department, given her extensive experience within the unit.
Over the years, she has served in several strategic positions within the department, including Assistant Commissioner of Police in the Gender Unit, Deputy Commissioner in the Gender Unit, Commissioner of Police in the Anti-Fraud Section, Commissioner of Police at the Police Special Fraud Unit, and Assistant Inspector-General of Police at the FCID Annex in Lagos.
Her deep understanding of high-profile and complex investigations places her in a strong position to lead the department, which serves as the apex investigative arm of the Nigeria Police Force.
