IGP Tunji Disu Begins Major Shake-Up as Police Spokesperson Hundeyin Exits
As the newly appointed Inspector-General of Police, Tunji Disu, settles into office, signs of a swift transition are already emerging within the leadership structure of the Nigeria Police Force.
One of the first major developments is the removal of the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, a move that signals the beginning of structural changes aimed at repositioning the Force under the new leadership.
Before his appointment as FPRO, Hundeyin served as the Police Public Relations Officer for Zone 2 Command in Lagos and also gained international experience during his service with the United Nations–African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID).
With Tunji Disu now officially assuming office as Inspector-General, the decision to relieve the FPRO underscores what observers describe as a fast-paced transition period within the police institution.
The Presidency and the leadership of the Nigeria Police Force are expected to announce a new spokesperson in the coming days to ensure continuity and efficiency in the Force’s communication and public engagement operations.
