The good thing about the June 12 story is that in spite of all these challenges, June 12 has taught us some good lessons.
June 12 has taught us about courage, tenacity and resilience as the best way to fight for a cause.
It has taught us about the ideals of democracy and how we can keep the hope alive.
June 12 has also taught us that the struggle for a better society is like a journey that begins with lots of uncertainties but ends in glory.
These and many others are some of the worthy lessons and ideals that the late Abiola lives and died for.
But it is unfortunate that almost forty years after the 1993 elections, Nigeria has refused to learn these lessons.
That is why we are where we are today.
And unless we embrace regionalism, Nigeria may find it very difficult to realizes it’s lofty dreams.
