
The Lagos State Police Command has formally invited Pastor Chris Okafor, the Senior Pastor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, in connection with allegations of multiple rape, other sexual offences, and conducts likely to cause a breach of public peace and breakdown of law and order in the state.
According to the Police, the cleric has been directed to report at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, on Monday, January 5, 2026, by 10:00 a.m., to answer questions relating to the allegations. The invitation letter was duly served on him through his legal representative.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has ordered a comprehensive and thorough investigation into the allegations. He directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the SCID to ensure that the investigation is conducted diligently, professionally, and in line with the law.
CP Jimoh further ordered immediate and adequate security coverage for the alleged victims, encouraging them and any other affected persons to come forward and report their experiences at the SCID, Panti, where investigations have already commenced.
The Police Command assured that the identities of all victims and witnesses would be treated with utmost confidentiality and fully protected. Individuals who possess credible information or evidence relevant to the case are also urged to come forward without fear, either through the Police Public Relations Department at the Lagos State Police Command or directly at the SCID.
Reiterating the Command’s commitment to justice, CP Jimoh assured members of the public that the investigation would be transparent, unbiased, and free from sentiment, regardless of the status or influence of the individuals involved.
“The Lagos State Police Command remains resolute in maintaining law and order and ensuring that all allegations of criminal conduct are discreetly and thoroughly investigated in accordance with the law. Justice must prevail,” the statement concluded.
