Lagos Police Nab Notorious Cultist, Suspected Armed Robber in Ebute Metta, Recover Pistol and Charms
The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber and notorious cultist, identified as Odeshola Afeez, during a swift operation in the Ebute Metta area of the state.
The arrest followed a distress call from concerned residents who reported that a young man was harassing passers-by and creating panic within the community.
Acting promptly on the information, police operatives were deployed to the scene, where the 22-year-old suspect was apprehended. A thorough search conducted on him led to the recovery of a locally made pistol, one live cartridge, and suspected local charms concealed in his possession.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect is a notorious cultist allegedly involved in terrorising residents and engaging in activities capable of disrupting public peace and security. Further findings indicate that he had previously evaded arrest before his eventual capture by police operatives.
Commending the officers involved in the operation, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Fatai, praised their professionalism, vigilance, and prompt response to the distress call.
The police chief reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to combating cultism, armed robbery, and other violent crimes across Lagos State, assuring residents that efforts to rid communities of criminal elements remain a top priority.
