LATE OLAWOYIN WAS A LEGAL GIAINT, TOP-FLIGHT TEACHER-GOV. AKEREDOLU

The Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN has described the late Professor Gabriel Adesiyan Olawoyin, SAN , as a legal giants in law practice and advocacy across Nigeria and beyond.

Professor Gabriel Adesiyan Olawoyin, SAN was the Chancellor of the Diocese of Ife in the Anglican Communion until his call to glory at the age of 81.

Addressing the congregation at the commendation service for the accomplished legal luminary at Cathedral of St. Philip Ayetoro, Ile-Ife,Osun State , Governor Akeredolu said the professor was a top-flight teacher of Law, mentor and leader to a generation of members of the bar and the bench.

“Late Professor Gabriel Olawoyin was a principled advocate of the law. He was a great man in legal practice, in fact he was an authority in company law. He was our teacher, our mentor and leader. That is why alot of us who are members of the inner and outer bar are here to honour this great man”, he said.

While stressing that the late Professor has left an indelible mark, the Governor enjoined the family members to keep the flag of the late legal icon flying as a way of preserving his legacies.

Among other dignitaries at the service, are former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore and former Chief of Defence Staff, General Alani Akinrinade.
