The Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) has further demonstrated its unwavering commitment to the welfare and operational efficiency of security personnel by donating raincoats to officers and troops of the Nigerian Army’s 9 Brigade in Ikeja, Lagos, as part of efforts to enhance military operations during the rainy season.
The presentation was led by the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, during a working visit to the Brigade Headquarters. He was received by the Commander, 9 Brigade, Brigadier General Ayokunle Owolabi, alongside the Chief of Staff, Colonel C. B. Anaukwu, Major Samuel Osaremen Omijie, and other senior military officers.
A highlight of the visit was a ceremonial parade by troops, who appeared in formation wearing the bulletproof vests and ballistic helmets previously donated by LSSTF. The display underscored the Lagos State Government’s sustained investment in strengthening the safety, welfare, and operational effectiveness of frontline security personnel.
Speaking during the presentation, Dr. Ogunsan explained that the raincoats were donated to complement the earlier supply of ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests, ensuring that military personnel remain fully equipped to perform their constitutional duties regardless of weather conditions.
“The raincoats are intended to complement the earlier donation of ballistic helmets and bulletproof vests. Through this intervention, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to ensuring that officers remain adequately equipped to discharge their constitutional responsibilities, irrespective of the weather,” he said.
In his response, Brigadier General Ayokunle Owolabi commended the LSSTF for its consistent support to the Nigerian Army, expressing appreciation for Dr. Ogunsan’s working visit and the Trust Fund’s longstanding contributions to enhancing military operations in Lagos. As a mark of gratitude, the Brigade Commander presented a souvenir to the LSSTF CEO.
The latest donation forms part of LSSTF’s broader strategy of strengthening the operational capacity of security agencies through the provision of critical equipment, logistics, and welfare support. It also reinforces the enduring partnership between the Lagos State Government and the Nigerian Armed Forces in promoting peace, security, and public confidence across Lagos State.
