Across South-East Nigeria, the annual August Meeting remains a significant season for women to reconnect, celebrate their shared heritage and engage in conversations on issues affecting their families and communities.

This year, MAGGI joined the celebrations across the five South-East states, connecting with 19,670 women through 30 women’s associations and five market activations—more than twice the number reached during last year’s celebrations.

Beyond the impressive numbers, the initiative provided an opportunity to celebrate the women and the rich cultural traditions that make August Meeting a cherished occasion across the region.

The celebrations featured cooking competitions, music, gifts and appearances by prominent women celebrities from the South-East, many of whom shared personal connections to the culture and significance of the annual gathering.

The events also provided a platform for practical conversations around nutrition and healthy food choices, particularly how families can make nutritious decisions while managing household budgets.

Discussions highlighted the importance of essential micronutrients, including iron, and the role fortified foods can play as part of a varied and balanced diet.

Through its participation, MAGGI reinforced its engagement with women and communities across the South-East, combining cultural celebration with conversations focused on nutrition, family wellbeing and community connection.
