Minors in #EndBadGovernance Protests to Regain Freedom as Tinubu Orders Release

President Bola Tinubu’s directive comes after widespread public outrage following the arrest and arraignment of 72 minors in connection with the protests.

The minors, who appeared visibly malnourished, faced charges including treason. The President has also instructed the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction to ensure the welfare of the minors and facilitate their reunification with their parents or guardians.

Additionally, an investigation has been ordered into the circumstances surrounding the minors’ arrests, detention, and prosecution

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed this while briefing State House correspondents, in Abuja.

The Minister said that the President said that all the law enforcement agents involved in the arrest, detention and prosecution of the minors be investigated and anyone found culpable, would face appropriate disciplinary action.
