A massive rescue operation coordinated by the Office of the National Security Adviser has successfully freed 20 medical students kidnapped in Benue State. The students, who were abducted last Thursday while traveling to Enugu State for a medical convention, were rescued on Friday through a joint effort by security agencies, including the police, DSS, and military personnel, with support from the Benue State government.
The rescue team, led by the Inspector General, arrived in Benue State on Monday and swiftly deployed to Otukpo to track down the kidnappers. After a thorough search and rescue operation, the students were finally freed, bringing an end to their harrowing ordeal.
The successful rescue operation is a significant achievement for the security agencies and the Benue State government, and a huge relief to the families and loved ones of the abducted students. It also sends a strong message to kidnappers and other criminal elements that their nefarious activities will not be tolerated.”
