Yaba College of Technology (YABATECH), Lagos, was transformed into a vibrant hub of music, dance and youthful creativity as Soundcity OnTour, powered by Bigi Carbonated Soft Drink and Fearless Energy Drink, took over the campus for three days.
From September 15 to 17, the familiar rhythm of lectures and academic routines gave way to an exciting blend of entertainment, talent discovery and student engagement, as leading brands from the stable of Rite Foods Limited created memorable experiences across the campus.
The excitement began with a series of campus activations, setting the stage for aspiring artistes to showcase their talents in the Bigi Music Competition.
Students battled for the opportunity to emerge as the YABATECH campus winner and clinch the ₦1 million prize, while also earning a chance to advance to the national stage.
The Fearless Dance Challenge added another dimension to the celebration, as talented student dancers took to the stage to display their creativity, confidence and impressive dance moves.
The three-day activation reached its peak on September 17 with the highly anticipated Soundcity OnTour concert, which featured performances from Modola, Tariq, Syemca, Slimcase, Mr. P and Kodee, alongside Duuwa and Rukmani.
The star-studded performances sent students into a frenzy, with the campus audience singing, dancing and enjoying an unforgettable entertainment experience.
Speaking on the activation, Ekuma Eze, Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability, Rite Foods Limited, said the company remained committed to creating platforms that empower young Nigerians to express their creativity and discover new opportunities.
> “Young people are not waiting for culture to happen; they are creating it every day. Through the Bigi and Fearless brands, we want to meet them where that creativity is most visible and give them platforms where they can express themselves, discover their capabilities and connect with opportunities beyond the immediate moment,” he said.
Beyond the music and entertainment, the YABATECH activation provided students with opportunities to compete, perform, connect and have their talents recognised.
For three days, the classroom took a back seat as the stage belonged to the students—and YABATECH certainly made its moment count.
