
A Love Beyond Death: Grace Olugbodi Dies One Week After Husband’s Burial”
With a mix of deep sorrow and gratitude to God, the Olugbodi family of Ara Kingdom in Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State has announced the passing of their revered matriarch, Mrs. Grace Olabisi Olugbodi (JP), fondly known as “Extraordinary Grace.” She was 83.
Madam Olugbodi died on April 18, 2026—just one week after the burial of her husband of over 65 years, the late J.O. Olugbodi, who was laid to rest on April 11, 2026. Their passing, so close in time, reflects a lifelong bond that even death could not keep apart.
Celebrated for a life marked by resilience, compassion, and unwavering faith, the late matriarch raised eight sons and one daughter while extending motherly love, guidance, and friendship to many beyond her immediate family. Her life stood as a powerful testament to diligence, strength of character, and steadfast commitment in the face of life’s challenges.
A devout Christian, she was widely admired as a pillar of faith whose service to God and humanity touched countless lives. Her legacy of love, grace, and spiritual devotion continues to resonate among family members, church community, and all who encountered her.

Speaking on behalf of the family, her son, Dr. Tunji Olugbodi—an advertising, media, and communications veteran and Executive Vice-Chairman of Verdant Zeal Marketing Communications Group—described her passing as both painful and comforting.
“Though we mourn, we rejoice that she is now resting peacefully in the bosom of her Maker, reunited with her husband. She was indeed an extraordinary blessing,” he said.
Funeral arrangements have been announced as follows: a Service of Songs and Tributes will hold on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Union Baptist Church, Osogbo, Osun State, while the funeral service and interment will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Ara Kingdom.
Mrs. Olugbodi is survived by her children and their spouses, grandchildren, siblings, and a host of extended family members.
The family expressed gratitude to God for a life well spent, celebrating the enduring legacy of “Extraordinary Grace.”
