Fanayajo Ranti, the publisher of Thetoclightafrica.com, beamed with joy as i sat at my desk, pen in hand, preparing to write a special tribute. Today is a remarkable day – the birthday of my dear friend and inspiration, Awokoya Gbenga.
As i began to write, memories flooded my mind. I remembered the first time i met, Gbenga’s infectious smile and warm demeanor leaving a lasting impression. Over the years, i had watched Gbenga grow into a visionary leader, mentor, and philanthropist.
“Awokoya Gbenga: A Shining Star in Africa’s Firmament,” I titled his tribute.
“Today, i celebrate a man whose life embodies the values of excellence, compassion, and service. Gbenga’s remarkable journey, from his humble beginnings in Lagos State, hail from Ipara Remo North, Ijebu, Ogun State, to becoming a respected leader in Nigeria’s business and social landscape, is a testament to his unwavering dedication and perseverance.”
I highlighted Gbenga’s impressive credentials: MBA graduate, senior manager at American International Insurance Company, president of various alumni associations, and CEO of Comzy Media House.
“But Gbenga’s true impact extends far beyond his professional achievements,” Ranti continued. “As a Rotarian and member of Island Allstars sports club as PRO, a pioneer of social media groups focused on job creation and mentorship, he has empowered countless individuals, inspiring them to reach for their dreams.”
As i concluded his tribute, i smiled, knowing that Gbenga’s birthday would be filled with love, laughter, and well-wishes
“Here’s to many more years of inspiring leadership, innovative ventures, and selfless service, dear Gbenga,” i wrote, signing off. “May your birthday be as bright and beautiful as the light you shine in the lives of others.”
