Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, Chairman/CEO of Executive Group, has been officially appointed as the Patron of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) in Lagos State. This recognition follows his significant contributions as Chairman of the initiative, the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) reports.
POCACOV, an advocacy initiative of the Nigeria Police Force, aims to steer young people away from cultism and other social vices through awareness campaigns, sensitization programs, and community outreach. The initiative also focuses on rehabilitating and reintegrating individuals affected by cultism and crime, reaching schools, inner-city neighborhoods, rural areas, and urban centers.
Over the past year, Dr. Ogunsan has leveraged his influence as a Board Member of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), a key supporter of NAOSNP, and the leader of the non-profit AKEM Foundation to drive impactful activities within POCACOV. Recognizing his dedication, the initiative’s National Coordinator, ACP Olabisi Oluseyi Okuwobi, officially announced his elevation to the role of Patron on behalf of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun.
In response to the appointment, Dr. Ogunsan, a United Nations POLAC International Peace Advocate, expressed his gratitude to the IGP and ACP Okuwobi. He also pledged to guide the newly appointed Chairman, Mr. Moses Oladimeji, to further enhance POCACOV’s effectiveness in Lagos.
“I will keep raiding our communities with love. We will provide food, shelter, and support. The police will do their job, but I will focus on the policing of love,” Ogunsan affirmed.
