Easter: Lagos Police Roll Out Massive Security, Assure Residents of Total Safety

The Lagos State Police Command has activated a robust and proactive security framework across the state ahead of the Easter celebration, assuring residents of a peaceful, safe, and hitch-free festive period.
The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, has ordered the large-scale deployment of personnel and operational assets to key locations across Lagos. These include worship centres, recreational venues, major highways, transport hubs, and other critical infrastructure to ensure maximum security coverage before, during, and after the celebrations.
As part of the security strategy, special attention is being given to riverine communities, with Marine Police units strategically positioned to enhance surveillance and patrol waterways, prevent criminal activities, and guarantee safety in those areas.
In addition, the Command is working closely with relevant agencies to implement effective traffic management measures aimed at ensuring smooth vehicular movement throughout the festive period.
Extending warm Easter greetings to Christian faithful, CP Fatai urged residents to embrace the values of love, sacrifice, and peaceful coexistence associated with the season. He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while stressing the importance of community collaboration in effective policing.
Residents are also encouraged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious activities. The Command has made available the following emergency lines for distress calls and credible information sharing: 07061019374, 08065154338, 08063299264, 08039344870, and 09168630929.
The Lagos State Police Command wishes all Christians a joyful and peaceful Easter celebration.
