Guaranty Trust Holding Company (GTCO) is set to host the 8th edition of its iconic Fashion Weekend this November, promising a vibrant showcase of African creativity and enterprise. Scheduled for November 8–9 at the GT Centre in Lagos, the two-day event will feature masterclasses led by global fashion leaders, over 140 curated retail pop-ups, and dazzling runway shows. With a focus on innovation and diversity, the 2025 edition aims to spotlight the evolution of African fashion, from traditional craftsmanship to contemporary couture.

At a recent media briefing, GTCO’s Group CEO emphasized the event’s role in fostering creativity and opportunity across the continent. “Each year, the GTCO Fashion Weekend reaffirms our belief that enterprise thrives where creativity is encouraged and opportunity is shared,” he said. This year’s immersive media experience will invite journalists to engage with fashion beyond reporting, offering interactive exhibitions and digital storytelling that trace GTCO’s eight-year journey in shaping Africa’s creative economy.

A highlight of the weekend will be the Africa’s Finest Exhibition, a tactile journey through Nigerian fashion history. Visitors will witness live demonstrations of traditional weaving techniques alongside runway pieces from past editions, illustrating the fusion of heritage and modern design. GTCO’s communications team describes the exhibition as a bridge between tradition and innovation, showcasing how local fabrics like shahi have inspired contemporary fashion narratives.

Beyond the glitz, GTCO Fashion Weekend continues to serve as a launchpad for small and medium-sized enterprises in fashion, textiles, and retail. With a growing digital strategy that includes live streams and social media storytelling, the event is expanding its global reach. As African designers connect with audiences across continents, GTCO remains committed to nurturing ambition and driving meaningful participation in the continent’s creative economy.
