The husband of the woman, Adejoke Oloje who allegedly died in the premises of a church in Alade Idanre Owena LGA of Ondo State has expressed his sadness over the matter. He accused his mother-in-law of going against his order despite warning them not to stay in the church premises.
In his remarks, Mr. Segun Oloje stated that his mother-in-law was the one who took the deceased Ajoke out of ‘the apartment I rented in Nigeria before I left. I have been staying in this apartment for 6 good years even before I met Joke I have never experienced anything bad in that house before.’
‘Suddenly her mother called me and complained that I am monitoring my wife, that I send people to watch over my wife. Likewise her mother complained of the house that I and my wife were staying before leaving for abroad, that the house, has been bewitched so therefore she is taking her daughter out of the house.’
Mr. Segun Oloje added that he resisted the move. ‘I replied my mother-in-law that she should leave my wife alone in this apartment. I have been staying in this apartment for 6 years nothing of such has happened in this apartment before I don’t know where you get your own information from. However her mother insist on taking my wife out of the house, then I said if you take my wife out of my apartment I will not cater for my wife and her child.’
He continued: ‘I called my parents and explained what happened. Later both parents met together and talked it out. They intervened and they agreed that my wife should return back to the house this was around October last year. And I began to give them the allowance every week like I used to do before her mother intruded though it’s my responsibility because she is nursing my baby and I love her, I never treated her bad before leaving for abroad.’
‘But this time around when she told me that she’s in the church, I asked her, why are you in the church? She said Pastor said I should stay in church for some time for prayer. Immediately I insisted that you should leave the church come back home I don’t like the way you guys are sleeping in the church where there is no convenience for you and my child nothing will happen to you, go home. On Wednesday, I spoke with her in the morning on video call, she complained about data, I ask someone to credit her phone. Later in the evening I had that my wife is dead. I didn’t believe in first place until I ask the lady that credit her phone to call her and that was how I confirmed it’, Mr. Oloje mournfully concluded.
