IGP Disu Deepens Police Welfare Drive as Lagos Command Holds Insurance Sensitisation for Officers
In line with the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM’s commitment to improving the welfare of personnel, the Lagos State Police Command has organised a comprehensive sensitisation lecture on Police Insurance and Welfare Schemes for officers of the Command.
The lecture, delivered by ACP Ameh Lydia of the Force Insurance Section, underscored the unwavering commitment of the Inspector-General of Police and the Force Insurance Section to enhancing the welfare and financial security of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.
During the session, ACP Lydia educated officers on the structure and responsibilities of the Force Insurance Section while providing detailed insights into the various insurance and welfare packages available to personnel. These include the Group Life Assurance Scheme, Nigeria Police Welfare Insurance Scheme, Group Personal Accident Scheme, IGP Family Welfare Insurance Scheme, and the newly introduced Voluntary Contributions Scheme, designed to offer officers additional opportunities to strengthen their financial stability and future security.
She also informed participants about the ongoing sale of shares in the NPF Insurance Company, encouraging interested officers to take advantage of the investment opportunity as part of long-term wealth creation.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, commended the Inspector-General of Police for placing the welfare of officers at the forefront of his leadership agenda. He also applauded the Force Insurance Section for organising the sensitisation programme, describing it as a timely initiative that would empower personnel with valuable knowledge of their welfare entitlements.
CP Tijani urged officers to fully embrace the available insurance and welfare schemes, stressing that improved welfare remains a critical factor in boosting morale, enhancing productivity, and ensuring efficient service delivery in the discharge of policing responsibilities.
The sensitisation programme forms part of the Nigeria Police Force’s broader efforts to promote the well-being of its personnel, improve financial literacy, and reinforce the welfare initiatives aimed at supporting officers throughout their careers and beyond.
