Fidelity Bank Renovates Lagos Orphanage, Pays School Fees, Donates Food to Children

Leading financial institution, Fidelity Bank Plc, has reinforced its commitment to community development and child welfare with a major intervention at Heritage Homes Orphanage in Anthony Village, Lagos, improving both the living and learning conditions of children at the facility.
The intervention, carried out under the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme (FHHP)—the Bank’s flagship employee-driven Corporate Social Responsibility initiative—was championed by the Audacious Class of newly inducted employees. Through the programme, employees identify impactful community projects, raise funds for implementation, while the Bank provides matching support to bring the initiatives to life.
The outreach addressed several urgent needs at the orphanage, including the renovation of damaged roofing and POP ceiling, fumigation of the facility, donation of essential food supplies, and payment of school fees for some of the children.
Speaking during the outreach, the Divisional Head, Brand and Communications, Fidelity Bank Plc, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, said the project reflects the Bank’s commitment to empowering employees to make meaningful contributions to society.
According to him, the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme enables staff to dedicate their time, resources and talents towards improving lives in the communities where the Bank operates.
“The Audacious Class identified Heritage Homes Orphanage, assessed its most pressing needs and successfully executed three major interventions—infrastructural renovation, food donation and payment of school fees,” he said.
Nwagboh noted that the initiative has given the children a safer environment, access to food, and assurance of continued education, adding that Fidelity Bank remains committed to delivering sustainable social impact across communities.
“We are delighted to be part of their journey. Today, these children have a secure roof over their heads, access to essential food supplies and the confidence that their education will continue. This is exactly the kind of lasting impact the Fidelity Helping Hands Programme was created to achieve,” he added.
Responding on behalf of Heritage Homes Orphanage, the Assistant General Manager, Irene Light, described the intervention as timely and life-changing.
She expressed heartfelt appreciation to Fidelity Bank for renovating the orphanage, replacing the damaged ceiling, fumigating the premises, donating food items, and paying the school fees of some of the children.
“Their generosity has brought relief, comfort and renewed hope to everyone in this home. This support has restored dignity to our facility and created a safer, healthier and more conducive environment for the children,” she said.
She also prayed for the continued growth and success of Fidelity Bank, applauding the institution for consistently demonstrating compassion and making a positive impact on vulnerable members of society.
