IGP Disu, Service Chiefs Deepen UK-Nigeria Security Ties at Strategic Defence Dialogue
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, on Monday joined Nigeria’s Service Chiefs and top security stakeholders at the 4th UK-Nigeria Security and Defence Partnership Dialogue held at the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) in Abuja.
The high-level engagement brought together senior defence and security officials from Nigeria and the United Kingdom to strengthen bilateral cooperation in tackling emerging security threats and promoting regional stability.
According to reports, discussions at the dialogue focused on critical areas of mutual interest, including counter-terrorism operations, intelligence sharing, capacity building, and enhanced security collaboration aimed at addressing evolving security challenges confronting both nations.
The meeting underscored the growing strategic partnership between Nigeria and the United Kingdom, with both countries reaffirming their commitment to fostering stronger security cooperation, advancing national and regional security objectives, and promoting sustainable peace.
The participation of IGP Disu alongside other Service Chiefs highlights Nigeria’s determination to leverage international partnerships in bolstering its security architecture and enhancing the effectiveness of ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, transnational crime, and other security threats.
