As the world marks World Cleanup Day, JMG Limited, a leading electro-mechanical company in Nigeria, has called for a broader and more sustainable approach to environmental conservation, responsible consumption and waste management to build healthier and more habitable communities.
World Cleanup Day, observed annually on September 20, with this year’s theme, “From Clean Plates to Clean Cities,” focuses attention on food waste, responsible consumption, the circular economy and sustainable urban waste management.
For JMG, the campaign goes beyond the physical removal of waste, emphasising the need to address the systems and everyday practices that contribute to environmental degradation. JMG demonstrated its commitment to community environmental action last year when its management and employees joined residents of Gbagada, Lagos, in a clean-up exercise aimed at removing waste, encouraging proper waste separation and promoting collective responsibility for the environment.
