Laffmattazz: Gbenga Adeyinka preaches unity as he ends S’West tour in Lagos

One of Nigeria’s leading comedians,Gbenga Adeyinka D 1st, says he has concluded plans to round off his comedy tour of South West,which he is using to preach unity across the region.
Adeyinka, who is also known as the Grand Comedian of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, said this at a press conference in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Adeyinka had embarked on the” Unity Tour”sometime in 2023 ,visiting major cities across South West Nigeria, including Abeokuta, Akure, Osogbo, and Ibadan,with his comedy brand, Laffmatazz.
Adeyinka said the Laffmattaz train will land in Lagos on Nov. 26, ending the unity tour.
According to him, the show tagged “Lagos Again” will be held at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island,
He said he embarked on the tour to preach unity in diversity following the ethnic and religious tension generated around the last general elections.
“2023 will go down in history as the year where we allowed tribe and religious diversity to thrive and cause disunity amongst us because of politics.
“Therefore, my team and l decided to use what we have to correct this and we set out on a unity tour across the South West of Nigeria.
” Entertainers with different political and religious leanings perform, entertain and preach the gospel of unity using the Laffmattazz platform,” he said.
The 55-year-old , comedian ,who is also an actor, ceremony the Lagos leg of the Laffmattazz Unity Tour was tagged “Lagos Again” because he had always seen Lagos as home.
“Last year, we had our first edition in Lagos after 12 years of touring the South West and we tagged it Lagos At Last and I dare say it was so successful.
“Lagos will always be home and we decided to round off the Unity Tour in Lagos, hence, ‘Lagos Again’ “,he said.
The comedian noted that at least 33 entertainers would thrill the audience at the Lagos show,supported by Nigeria Breweries’ Maltina, Goldberg and Ace.
Acoording to him , established musical and comedy acts ,like Tuface Idibia, Adewale Ayuba, Alibaba, Omobaba 1, and Ruggedman, will feature at the Lagos show.
“We have over 25 comedians and seven music acts with a surprise act, DJ Vinnie, Magic Whizz, Carton Boys and GKB,”he said.
The talented Master of Ceremony noted that his tour of the South West in the last 13 years had produced and promoted other growing talents in the comedy industry.
“We have consistently given a platform to young and budding talents to express themselves and launch them further to the pinnacle of their career.
“Some of these people ,include Damola and Baba Alariya from Osogbo, MC Remote and Prince Phelar from Ibadan.”he said. NAN
