The Lagos State Police Command has announced significant achievements in its fight against crime, with 26 suspects arrested and four firearms recovered in the past two weeks. According to Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin, the command has made substantial progress in addressing various crimes, including murder, defilement, armed robbery, and illicit drug possession ¹.
During a press briefing at the police headquarters on March 24, 2025, Hundeyin highlighted several notable cases. One such case involved a man who was robbed of three iPhones and Bitcoin worth 15 million naira by his girlfriend and her accomplices. The girlfriend, Emmanuella Bucha, and four other suspects were arrested, and the stolen items were recovered.
Another case involved the arrest of robbers and fraudsters who specialized in stealing foreign currency, jewelry, and other valuables. The suspects, Samuel Bamidele and others, were arrested in the Bucha area of Lagos State, and their operational vehicles and fake dollar notes were recovered.
The command also reported a sad case of murder, where a husband was arrested for stabbing his wife to death during a domestic dispute. The suspect, Peter, was arrested and the case transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for further investigation.
In addition to these cases, the command reported the recovery of arms and ammunition, including a military-grade rifle and an SMG rifle, abandoned by suspects in the Coronavirus area of Lagos State.
