LSSTF Boosts Air Force Operations with 5 Refurbished Vehicles, Bulletproof Vests, Ballistic Helmets and Raincoats

nd (LSSTF) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening Lagos State’s security architecture with the donation of five refurbished operational vehicles, ballistic helmets, bulletproof vests and raincoats to the Nigerian Air Force (NAF), 651 Base Services Group, in a strategic move to enhance the operational readiness, safety and welfare of personnel protecting the state.
The donation underscores the Lagos State Government’s sustained investment in providing security agencies with critical operational assets required to tackle evolving security challenges. It also reflects the government’s recognition that well-equipped and adequately protected security personnel are essential to safeguarding lives, securing critical infrastructure and sustaining the peace that has positioned Lagos as one of Nigeria’s safest states.
Presenting the vehicles and protective equipment, the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, handed the items to the Commander of the Nigerian Air Force 651 Base Services Group, Air Commodore Mohammed A. Imam. He explained that the donation forms part of the Trust Fund’s broader strategy to ensure frontline security personnel have the tools needed to perform their constitutional duties effectively and safely.
Addressing officers and men of the Air Force unit, Dr. Ogunsan praised the Nigerian Air Force for its professionalism, discipline and unwavering commitment to the security of Lagos and the nation. He reaffirmed the LSSTF’s resolve to continue providing strategic support to security agencies operating in the state.
“On behalf of the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, and the Board and Management of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund, we sincerely appreciate your unwavering commitment to the security of Lagos. Your contributions are invaluable, and we remain committed to supporting your operations,” he said.
Dr. Ogunsan noted that investing in the welfare and protection of security personnel is fundamental to building a resilient security system capable of responding swiftly to emerging threats.
“We will continue to encourage and boost your morale. This is only the beginning, and we will continue to provide the support needed to enable you to give your best whenever duty calls in Lagos State,” he added.
Receiving the operational vehicles and protective equipment, Air Commodore Mohammed A. Imam expressed appreciation to the Lagos State Government and the LSSTF for the timely intervention. He described the donation as another testament to the enduring partnership between the Trust Fund and security agencies, adding that the equipment would significantly improve the safety and operational efficiency of Air Force personnel deployed across Lagos.
During the visit, Air Commodore Imam conducted Dr. Ogunsan on a tour of the 651 Base Services Group facilities, showcasing key operational and support infrastructure while highlighting the unit’s preparedness and contributions to national security.
Dr. Ogunsan was accompanied by the LSSTF Director of Administration, Mr. Adegbola Lewis. Senior Nigerian Air Force officers, including Squadron Leader John Jeremiah Hibin, Squadron Leader Cosmos Emeka Francis, Flight Lieutenant Moshood Adekanmbi, Flying Officer H.M. Koimi and other top officers, were also present at the event.
