The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has announced plans for its highly anticipated 2026 Annual Marketing Conference (AMC), set to take place in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, from June 18 to 20, 2026.
With the theme, “Community, Culture, and Connection: Re-imagining the New Market,” the three-day conference is expected to bring together marketing professionals, business leaders, academics, policymakers, and students from across Nigeria to examine emerging trends and strategies shaping the future of marketing.
Speaking during a press briefing at the Institute’s National Secretariat in Lagos, NIMN President and Chairman of Council, Dr. Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi, highlighted the conference’s rich programme designed to foster innovation, knowledge-sharing, and professional development.
According to her, the event will feature a student mentoring conference themed “From Classroom to Marketplace,” a thought-leadership symposium and paper presentation in collaboration with Lagos Business School (LBS), an induction ceremony for new members, and the Institute’s Annual General Meeting (AGM), where elections will be conducted to fill vacant positions on the NIMN Governing Council.
Dr. Bayo-Ajayi emphasized that the Institute is repositioning marketing practice beyond transactions to focus on creating meaningful and sustainable relationships between brands and consumers.
“We are deliberately shifting the Institute’s focus from transactional marketing to building lasting, value-driven connections. By centering our discussions on the 3Cs—Community, Culture, and Connection—we are addressing the realities of today’s evolving marketplace while preparing professionals for the opportunities of tomorrow,” she said.
The NIMN President noted that onsite registration for participants will commence on June 17, 2026, at the conference venue in Port Harcourt. She also reminded members that attendance at the Annual Marketing Conference remains a mandatory requirement for those seeking to upgrade their professional membership status.
The conference is expected to serve as a major platform for industry stakeholders to exchange ideas, strengthen professional networks, and develop actionable strategies for navigating the rapidly changing consumer and business environment.
