The Lagos State Police Command has announced with deep sorrow the passing of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Khan Salihu, who until his death served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Finance and Administration of the Command.
DCP Khan Salihu passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, professionalism, and selfless service to the Nigeria Police Force.
In a statement, the Command described the late senior officer as a disciplined, committed, and highly respected police officer who distinguished himself throughout his career with exceptional integrity, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to duty. His leadership qualities, administrative expertise, and vast experience were credited with significantly enhancing the operational efficiency and effective management of the Lagos State Police Command.
The Command noted that news of his demise came as a profound shock to officers and men, who have been deeply saddened by the loss of a colleague and leader known for his humility and exemplary service.
Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, on behalf of officers and personnel of the Command, extended heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones of the deceased.
The Command prayed for Almighty God to grant DCP Salihu’s family the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss and to grant the departed officer eternal rest.
The Lagos State Police Command further stated that DCP Khan Salihu would be remembered for his dedication, professionalism, humility, and invaluable contributions to policing and nation-building, adding that his legacy will continue to inspire serving officers and future generations within the Force.
