The Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration, Lagos State Command, DCP Khan Salihu, describing the late officer as “an angel” whose life embodied humility, professionalism, and selfless service.
Dr. Ogunsan, while extending his condolences to the family of the deceased, the Inspector-General of Police, the Commissioner of Police, the management team, officers and men of the Lagos State Police Command, said the passing of DCP Salihu is a monumental loss to the Nigeria Police Force and the entire security architecture of Lagos State.
“We have lost an angel,” Dr. Ogunsan lamented. “DCP Khan Salihu was one of the finest officers I ever had the privilege of knowing. He was cultured, humble, exceptionally kind, and always willing to lend a helping hand. He carried himself with dignity and treated everyone with respect, regardless of their status or position.”
The LSSTF Chief Executive noted that throughout his distinguished career, the late senior police officer earned the trust and admiration of both colleagues and superiors through his unwavering commitment to duty, loyalty, and integrity. He described DCP Salihu as a dependable pillar within the leadership structure of the Lagos State Police Command whose dedication to service never wavered.
According to Dr. Ogunsan, the deceased officer was widely admired for his outstanding interpersonal skills, calm disposition, and ability to build bridges among stakeholders within and outside the Force.
“His professionalism was exemplary, but beyond that, he was a genuinely good man and a devoted lover of God. His death leaves a vacuum that will be difficult to fill,” he said.
He further stated that the Lagos security community would remember DCP Salihu as a man who served with honour, impacted countless lives positively, and left behind a legacy of compassion, excellence, and dedicated service.
Praying for the peaceful repose of the late officer’s soul, Dr. Ogunsan urged family members, friends, colleagues, and associates to find comfort in the remarkable legacy he leaves behind — one defined by integrity, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to the service of humanity.
