The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Lagos State Chapter, has honoured the Group Managing Director of Bomarah Group, Hajia Bola Muse, as its Iconic Woman of the Month for August 2026.
The recognition celebrates Muse’s outstanding leadership in Nigeria’s maritime and logistics sectors, as well as her sustained humanitarian efforts and commitment to improving the lives of vulnerable and marginalised Nigerians.
Through the Bomarah Foundation, her philanthropic organisation, Muse has spearheaded several grassroots empowerment programmes targeted at widows, youths and underserved communities.
The initiatives include financial grants, business start-up kits, food distribution and livelihood support aimed at helping beneficiaries overcome poverty and achieve greater economic independence.
The foundation has also extended its interventions to inmates and ex-offenders through welfare packages, legal assistance and rehabilitation programmes. It supports education through scholarships for students and youths, while Persons Living with Disabilities (PWDs) benefit from mobility aids and targeted empowerment initiatives designed to promote inclusion and financial independence.
Speaking on the recognition, Chairperson of NAWOJ Lagos, Jumoke Falayi-Johnson, commended Muse for combining corporate leadership with social responsibility.
According to her, Muse’s commitment to human rights, gender advocacy and community development reflects the values behind the NAWOJ Iconic Woman initiative.

Falayi-Johnson said NAWOJ Lagos was pleased to celebrate Muse’s contributions and wished her continued success in her professional and humanitarian endeavours.
The association described the awardee as an example of how women in leadership can leverage their achievements to create opportunities and make meaningful contributions to society.
