Abuja, Nigeria – The National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, has extended his heartfelt felicitations to all Nigerians as the nation celebrates its 64th Independence Anniversary.
In his message, Barr. Ezeokenwa lauded the resilience, strength, and unity of the Nigerian people, acknowledging the country’s journey towards development despite numerous challenges. He noted that the 64th Independence anniversary is not only a moment of celebration but also an opportunity for reflection on the strides made since Nigeria gained independence in 1960.
“As we commemorate this landmark occasion, we must remember the sacrifices of our founding fathers who fought for our freedom and laid the foundation for the Nigeria we know today. Their courage and vision continue to inspire us as we work together to build a stronger, more united, and prosperous nation,” Barr. Ezeokenwa stated.
The APGA National Chairman reiterated the party’s commitment to fostering good governance, unity, and socio-economic development in Nigeria. He called on Nigerians to embrace peace, tolerance, and patriotism, stressing that the country’s progress depends on collective efforts from all citizens.
“As Nigerians, it is our responsibility to uphold the values of democracy, justice, and equity. We must remain steadfast in our pursuit of a better Nigeria for future generations. APGA remains dedicated to these ideals and will continue to champion policies that prioritize the welfare of the people,” Barr. Ezeokenwa added.
In light of the current challenges, Barr. Ezeokenwa used the occasion to call on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and state governors to urgently address the pressing economic and security issues that have significantly affected the lives of ordinary Nigerians. He urged the government to implement swift measures aimed at reducing the hardship occasioned by recent federal policies, particularly the removal of fuel subsidies and the resulting inflation, which has placed a strain on the citizenry.
“We are fully aware of the difficulties faced by Nigerians due to recent economic policies. It is imperative that both the Federal Government and the state governments intensify efforts to mitigate the impact of these policies, ensuring that the people can regain economic stability and security in their daily lives,” Barr. Ezeokenwa emphasized.
While acknowledging the present difficulties, he expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, emphasizing that with sustained efforts in nation-building and a shared sense of purpose, the country will overcome its challenges and achieve its full potential.
He concluded by urging Nigerians to celebrate this Independence Day with hope and a renewed commitment to unity and progress, assuring that APGA will continue to play a pivotal role in shaping a better Nigeria.
