
Ogun Police Debunk Report of Broda Shaggi Shooting, Launch Probe into Viral ClaimThe Ogun State Police Command has clarified reports alleging that popular Nigerian comedian and entertainer Broda Shaggi was shot within the state, stating that no such incident has been recorded within its jurisdiction.
In a press release issued on March 13, 2026, the Command said it could not confirm that the alleged shooting occurred anywhere in Ogun State, adding that no report of such an incident has been received at any police formation across the state.
The Police, however, noted that in line with its commitment to professionalism and transparency, it has commenced investigations to verify the claim and establish the true circumstances surrounding the viral report.
According to the Command, necessary steps are being taken to ascertain the facts and determine whether the alleged incident actually occurred.
The Police further urged members of the public to rely only on official communication from the Command while investigations continue.
The statement reiterated the Command’s commitment to ensuring the safety of residents and maintaining law and order across Ogun State.
The clarification was issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babas e yi, on behalf of the Command headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
