The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has officially launched its campaign for the forthcoming Local Government Elections. The symbolic event took place today at the Cocoa Conference Hall, Governor’s Office, Akure, where Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and the State APC Chairman, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, presented party flags to candidates contesting in the 18 local government areas and 203 wards of the state.
The event signaled the APC’s readiness to engage voters and secure grassroots support ahead of the elections. At the very beginning of the important meeting, Gov. Lucky Aiyedatiwa called for a minute silence in honor of the late scribe of the State, Hon. Temitayo Oluwatuyi, whose candor, experience and contributions to the development of the state have been exemplary.
Addressing party faithful, Governor Aiyedatiwa reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to delivering good governance and sustainable development at all levels. He urged the candidates to approach the campaigns with integrity, focusing on the needs of the people and the vision of the party so as to consolidate on the victory recorded in the recently concluded Governorship election.
“These elections are critical to ensuring that development reaches every corner of Ondo State,” Governor Aiyedatiwa said. “Our candidates have been carefully chosen for their dedication, leadership, and ability to represent the values of the APC. I urge all of you to conduct peaceful and issue-based campaigns that reflect our party’s mission to serve and uplift the people.”
He further assured the candidates of his undiluted support whilst urging them to avoid overconfidence.
APC State Chairman, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, expressed confidence in the party’s candidates and structure, emphasizing that the APC remains the strongest political force in the state. He noted that the flag presentation represents the party’s unity and readiness to win overwhelmingly at the polls.
“Our candidates are grassroots leaders who understand the needs and aspirations of their communities. This campaign will not only highlight their vision but also reinforce the APC’s track record of delivering progress in Ondo State,” Adetimehin said. He urged candidates to focus their campaigns at the grassroots level to promote the party’s agenda of good governance.
The APC has outlined a statewide campaign strategy to engage voters across all local governments and wards, ensuring that its message of inclusiveness and development reaches every resident. The party leadership also called on members to remain united and work tirelessly to ensure victory.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Adelami amongst other party stalwarts, supporters, and stakeholders, all demonstrating strong solidarity and enthusiasm for the campaign season.
