The Lagos State Police Command, through the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), in collaboration with the Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), has intensified its campaign against drug abuse, cultism and election violence with a sensitization programme for transport operators, traders and other key stakeholders, the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) reports.
Representing the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, psc, mnips, the Area Commander, Area B Command, ACP Onyinyechi Onwuamaegbu, urged participants to reject all forms of criminality and remain committed to lawful conduct. She highlighted the critical role of transport operators and traders in promoting peace, public safety and community security, encouraging them to support the Police with timely and credible information while ensuring that criminal elements are not given refuge within their communities.
Held at the Apapa-Iganmu LCDA Secretariat, the sensitization programme also featured goodwill messages from the Executive Chairman of the LCDA, Divisional Police Officers and other stakeholders. Speakers unanimously emphasized that combating crime, curbing social vices and sustaining peaceful coexistence require collective responsibility and active collaboration between security agencies and members of the public.
