WIMBIZ to Convene Global Women Leaders in London, Champions Lasting Impact in a Changing World
Women in Management, Business and Public Service (WIMBIZ) is set to host the fourth edition of its London Conference, reaffirming its commitment to empowering and advancing women’s leadership on the global stage.
Scheduled for Friday, June 26, 2026, at One Great George Street, The Institution of Civil Engineers, London, the conference will be held under the theme: “Meaningful Legacy: Power, Positioning, and Influence in a Changing World.”
The high-profile gathering will bring together distinguished global leaders, senior executives, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and changemakers from the United Kingdom, Europe, Africa, and the diaspora to explore strategies for building sustainable influence and impactful leadership in an increasingly complex global environment.
Confirmed speakers for the conference include renowned leadership expert Julia Middleton, Founder of Common Purpose and Women Emerging; Ibukun Awosika, Co-Founder of WIMBIZ and CEO of The Chair Centre; Sarah Fadoul Boulos, Founder and Chairperson of the Society for the Performing Arts in Nigeria (SPAN); Will Anderson, MBE, Founder and Managing Partner of Oakbridge Advisory; Andrew Olowude, Chief Technology Officer of Xenet Ai; and Niamh White, Founder of Hospital Rooms. Additional speakers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The conference will examine how women leaders can strengthen institutions, drive sustainable growth, and create enduring impact amid shifting geopolitical dynamics, rapid technological advancements, and evolving economic realities.
Speaking on the significance of the conference theme, WIMBIZ Executive Director, Omowunmi Akingbohungbe, said the concept of a meaningful legacy has become increasingly relevant in today’s fast-changing world.
According to her, the conference will provide a platform for women to explore ways of achieving professional success while cultivating lasting influence that transcends generations and geographical boundaries.
She noted that the London Conference remains a critical platform for cross-cultural dialogue, strategic partnerships, and knowledge exchange, building on WIMBIZ’s more than two decades of empowering women and preparing them for leadership roles across sectors.
The 2026 conference comes at a pivotal moment, following findings from the FTSE Women Leaders Review 2026, which showed that women now occupy 43 percent of board positions across FTSE 350 companies. However, only eight percent of those companies are led by female Chief Executive Officers, underscoring the continuing gap between board representation and executive leadership.
Participants at the conference will engage in keynote presentations, panel discussions, and interactive fireside chats featuring influential voices from business, finance, public service, international development, and other critical sectors. Organisers say the programme is designed to deliver actionable insights, foster strategic networking, and encourage meaningful collaboration across industries and regions.
