CP Tijani Fatai Holds Strategic Security Summit, Tasks Officers on Proactive Policing as LSSTF Donates 400 Protective Gear
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Tijani Fatai, has convened a high-level strategic security meeting with Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers (DPOs), Police Mobile Force (PMF) Commanders, and other tactical unit heads across the State, as part of renewed efforts to strengthen security operations and enhance proactive policing in Lagos.
The meeting, held to review the prevailing security situation across the State, focused on improving operational readiness, intelligence-led policing, and rapid response mechanisms to emerging threats within various Areas of Responsibility (AORs). The Commissioner charged all commanders to remain vigilant, proactive, and uncompromising in the discharge of their duties, stressing the importance of effective supervision, timely intelligence gathering, and strict professionalism across all operational levels.
He further directed senior officers to ensure that these standards are consistently cascaded down to frontline personnel, reinforcing discipline and efficiency in day-to-day policing activities.
In a major boost to security operations, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund donated 200 bulletproof helmets and 200 bulletproof vests to the Command to enhance officer safety and operational effectiveness during field deployments.
The protective equipment was formally presented to the Commissioner of Police by the Executive Secretary of LSSTF, Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who reaffirmed the organisation’s continued commitment to supporting security agencies with critical resources needed to safeguard lives and property across Lagos State.
The Commissioner expressed deep appreciation to LSSTF for its consistent partnership and support, noting that the donation would significantly boost the morale, confidence, and operational capability of officers, particularly those engaged in frontline and high-risk assignments.
He also commended residents of Lagos State for their sustained cooperation with the Police, acknowledging the vital role of public intelligence and community support in the Command’s operational successes. He called for continued collaboration between citizens and security agencies in the collective effort to rid the State of criminal elements and maintain peace.
