LSSTF-CACCOV to Host Virtual Cybersecurity Campaign July 18, Offers Free Data to Participants
As cyber threats continue to evolve alongside rapid technological advancement, the Lagos State Security Trust Fund’s Campaign Against Crime, Cultism and Other Vices (LSSTF-CACCOV) has announced its July 2026 Cybersecurity Campaign aimed at equipping Nigerians with the knowledge and skills to stay safe online.
The virtual campaign, themed “Staying Safe in a Digital World,” is scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. (WAT) and will bring together cybersecurity experts, technology professionals, policy advocates, young people and members of the public to promote online safety and responsible digital citizenship.
The organisers disclosed that the event, which will be streamed live on YouTube and other LSSTF-CACCOV social media platforms, will feature insightful discussions on emerging cyber threats, practical online safety demonstrations, interactive question-and-answer sessions, networking opportunities, and access to valuable cybersecurity resources and digital tools.
To encourage participation and support digital learning, organisers also announced that active participants will receive over one terabyte of internet data during the programme.
The campaign will be hosted by the State Coordinator of LSSTF-CACCOV, Dr. Moses Oladimeji, who stressed the growing importance of cybersecurity in today’s digital world.
According to him, “In today’s interconnected world, security no longer begins and ends within a physical location. It extends into cyberspace, where billions of digital interactions occur every day. The ability to navigate the online space safely has become an essential life skill.”
The programme will feature Oluwabamise Soile, Lead, Security Governance and Risk at Payaza, alongside Meshole Emmanuel, Head of Programmes and Outreaches, LSSTF-CACCOV, as keynote speakers.
The initiative is championed by the Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF), Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan, who serves as the Grand Patron of LSSTF-CACCOV. It is supported by strategic partners including Executive Hotel & Suites, Aethelgard Global Limited, AccompliTech, and Tormer, demonstrating strong public-private collaboration in advancing cyber resilience across Lagos State.
The organisers noted that the cybersecurity campaign forms part of LSSTF-CACCOV’s broader preventive security strategy, which focuses on tackling crime through education, advocacy and youth engagement. Over the years, the initiative has implemented anti-cultism campaigns, community sensitisation programmes against drug abuse, and other crime prevention initiatives, while expanding its interventions to address emerging digital security challenges.
