The National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (Administration), Lagos State Command, DCP Khan Salihu, who passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, after a brief illness.
In a condolence message signed by the Association’s Public Relations Officer, Eric Elezuo, on behalf of the President, Mayor Samson Oki, NAOSNP commiserated with the Nigeria Police Force, the Lagos State Police Command, and the Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Tijani, describing the late officer as a consummate professional whose dedication and discipline earned him the respect of colleagues and the public alike.
The association noted that DCP Salihu distinguished himself through exemplary service, professionalism, humility, and commitment to duty throughout his career.
“With hearts filled with grief but in total submission to the will of Almighty God, we commiserate with the entire Nigeria Police Force family, particularly the Lagos State Command and its Commissioner, CP Fatai Tijani, on the passing of DCP Khan Salihu,” the statement read.
NAOSNP described the late senior police officer as a disciplined administrator whose work was anchored on professionalism, accountability, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring security and safety, especially in Lagos State, where he served until his death.
The association further praised him as a media-friendly officer who maintained cordial relationships with journalists and was always willing to offer support when needed.
“DCP Khan Salihu was an extremely professional senior officer, humble, disciplined, and always ready to contribute positively. The Police hierarchy and the Nigerian media community will greatly miss him,” the statement added.
NAOSNP prayed for the repose of his soul and asked Almighty Allah to grant him Aljannatul Firdaus while comforting his family, friends, and colleagues during this difficult period.
The Lagos State Police Command had earlier paid tribute to the late officer, describing him as a dedicated and selfless servant whose humility, professionalism, and commitment to duty left an enduring impact on the Force.
“DCP Khan Salihu will be fondly remembered for his dedication, humility, professionalism, and selfless service to the nation and the Nigeria Police Force. His legacy of service and commitment will continue to inspire officers and men of the Command,” the Command stated.
The late DCP’s passing has continued to attract tributes from security stakeholders, colleagues, and members of the media, all of whom have celebrated his remarkable contributions to policing and public service.
